Majure Jewelry & Gifts is a family owned and operated jewelry & gift store located in Quitman, Mississippi. Majure’s has held it’s position on Main Street since 1951, when Bob & Doris Majure moved to Quitman and opened a watch repair desk in the old McNeill Drug Store. That watch desk evolved to what became popularly known as Majure Jewelry & Gifts.

The Quitman Chamber of Commerce recognized Majure Jewelry Store in 1982 as Business of the Year. The December 1982 Clarke County Tribune stated, “Making a business succeed is a considerable feat, but making a family business thrive and expand through the years is a cause for celebration. The Majures have done it.”

Bob Majure passed away in his home in Quitman on October 15, 1999 after serving the local community for 48 years. Doris and her children, Steve and JoEtte Smith, continued his longstanding tradition of service by continuing the operation of Majure Jewelry & Gifts. Ms. Doris & Steve have both passed away, and JoEtte operates the business today. This year Majure’s celebrated 70 years.

The size of the establishment has expanded over the years, as well as the merchandise which today includes a full array of fine jewelry, gifts, china, crystal, and fine timepieces.
